Life is always busy and a little chaotic in my house. Every weekend we have something to do, a birthday party or event at church. We may have some returns or just regular shopping to do. But there are some things we always try to get done.
So here are the things to do during the weekend that will make your week go smoother.
Saturday’s are for laundry at our house at least. We do not wash during the week unless it’s an emergency or we are out of town over the weekend. The princess is now old enough to help so she does most of this for me. We sort in like color piles. We started this really young, so if your child is learning colors, sorting clothes is a step he/she can help with. We do smaller loads because I hate folding and putting away. So I break it down into smaller loads.
2) Grocery shopping
I grocery shop for the week. When I shop for more than a week, I buy things don’t need and they go to waste. I usually do online orders and just pick up but sometimes we go with a list in tow. I do not like wasting food and I am not too keen on shopping in the store but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
3) Layout Your Clothes for the Week
This saves so much time in the morning if you already know what you are going to put on. It gives you time to iron if you need to and make sure you haven’t chosen a stained shirt or pants missing a button.
4) Schedule Goals, Top Priorities, To-Dos and Meetings
When you are balancing multiple schedules and wearing multiple hats, it’s hard to remember it all. So I write everything thing down and prioritize as I go. This allows making sure I am not overbooking or taking on too many things. It also gives me a blueprint of my week. I use a color-coded system so if I can quickly identify work from personal from the princess.
5) Give God Praise and Rest!
On the seventh day, He rested and so should you! Mondays come fast so take some time to do something relaxing. Sit on the couch, take a nap, watch a show, make the kids and/or your partner each leftovers. Enjoy the moment and be ready to tackle your week!
